went to the ny auto show yesterday and was told they won't have a 2005 coupe there. "Changes will be minor and the big news for infiniti was the M45 and Q45 redisign."

 

WHAAAAT?!?!?!?

Rat bastages!!! I've ben waiting forever for this!

dang nabbit. looks like I'm calling my dealer.

Yeah seriously...they moved a few buttons, added a few buttons and put a Z tube on it...it wouldnt really make sense for infiniti to make major changes to their most sucessful product. Good to know they didnt screw all the 03 and 04 coupe owners over with a major redesign...I know I woulda been livid.

Look how long it took Acura to change the NSX, and that was only for fixed headlights, or the S200 etc etc. Patience man, cars not old enough to make major design changes yet.

Bad news: Just spoke to dealer, and they say they may not even know the changes until August!

I'm sorry but that's total horse$hit....
You should be able to place an order this coming June. Delivery date will be around September.
Your dealer just wants to get rid of all 04' he has on the lot. That's it.

Just spoke to someone in the office abou this:

Infiniti has the G35 C and S, and the new X. All are selling great and are wonderful marketing tools as well as booth draws for the show - so why aren't they there? Sure they want to launch the 45 and 56, but I would think they would like to at least have the other models on hand? No?

My co worker stuck a thought in my brain:

What if the changes are relatively major, like the extra 20 ponies, interior upgrade, memory seats, stereo, etc? They would hold off until later, sell and discount the existing stock, and then release the 'new' '05. Thoughts on this?

I ordered my car in July of 2003 for a 2004 model without knowing about changes or pricing. Why wait? There are no major changes on the horizon - sales keep increasing - they are not going to waste what is in their back pocket until sales start leveling off and/or decrease. The entire G model lines has been a home run for Infiniti. Nissan traditionally makes major changes on a model every 3 - 4 years.

I'm sure there are changes, but it only makes sense to keep it under wraps to keep the value of the 04's up. When the news is released, then and only then will there be the possibility of having to discount the 04's. It's marketing.

i don't know about infinity waiting to discount 04's till the news about the 05's comes out, but i ordered my G35c 3 wks ago twilbl/premium/nav/aero w/o spoiler/splash guards/tint for $35,900 and that seems to be cheaper than most. i guess you can draw whatever conclusion you want from that ... just giving a little pricing info to help ...or further confuse matters on the potentially different '05
