2005 should have...

i always felt that infiniti should consult us about what they customer wants in changes and improvements for upcomming years. here is my list of changes. lets hear your enlightened ideas. and maybe infiniti will listen for '06. 1. front seat memory 2. better sound system, dump boise 3. some kind of protectant coating for the center consul to provent scratches 4. better exterior paint, more chip resistent 5. heating and cooling for the seats 6. better gas mileage 7. few more horses (300) 8. option for all weather tires on the 18" instead of paying for the pilots 9. whatever keeps the window wet when you roll it down days after you wash-fix it 10. the sun glass holder is too shallow to hold any real sun glasses, make it deeper. 11. hyperbrights to match hid in the clearance, sidemarkers, and license plate lights 12. less brake dust, different pads. 13. change the dash light color from orange to white dials, black markers, with red hands.

don't start no sh*t, won't be no sh*t!

I agree with most of those suggestions, but adding horsepower AND increasing fuel economy seem kind of hard. Also, I actually wouldn't change the "amber" interior lights. I actually like it just fine and kind of think of it as an Infiniti signature.

Yeah its easy to list changes, but at what cost? It cost money to change things....

Reasonable estimates???

Your list:
-1. Front seat memory: $100.00
-2. Better sound: $??? (keep bose and use better equp.???)
-3. Real Aluminum trim, w/projection: $250.00+
-4. I don't know if we can improve paint, factory clear bra: $400.00
-5. Cooling seats too, adds a fan and vent. $200.00
-6. Better gas Mileage? tone down acc. or HP (hell no) 19's fine
-7. Z-tube, better air box $170.00
-8. 18"s options, no cost???
-9. Most car have wet windows after washing, but better felt? $100
-10. Mine sunglass holder, holds glasses? Changing overhead $200.00
-11. Slotted roters, larger pads, harder compound: $500.00
-12. White dash lights, ext. $100.00

okay we're up to 2000.00 plus dollars in 2006 changes w/o major style change. Worth it???

I'd like projection HID lowbeam, and projection HID fog seperate.

White dials with black and red hands? Haha. Can you say tacky, or the infamous word.. RICER? I like the orange setup and the only thing I would change if I could would be to make it blue or something. That might even be too tacky. BMW gauges are the best gauges anywhere in my opinion. They should copy those.

Re: 2005 should have...

your whole list, i could live with. some are aesthetics and therefore subjective. some are not reasonable in the immediate future for the time the car has been out.

my wish list, which i think anyway is far from happening is:
1. redesign that twisted dipstick. it often gets stuck in the funnel guide.
2. cabin lights in the rear for the coupe. hard to look for something back there when its dark. all my other coupes had maplights AND rear cabin light.

Re: 2005 should have...

and seat belt. i have to twist and put my body in a 45 degree and extend my arm backwards every morning. it was ok in the beginning, now its kind of a hassle. I would love mem seats, everytime I get a carwash, service, body shop, etc. I have to spend several minutes finding my seating position. blue gauges are awesome. have you seen VW gauges (I kno the cars are ugly), but they have some nice gauges. Blue is not tacky. white is with red and black might be. just my opinion.

Re: 2005 should have...

People that have gone have been saying that there are no 2005 G35's at the show. Just mainly the new Q and M. I was hoping that Infiniti would have brought the coupe so we could at least see what the small interior changes would have been.

Re: 2005 should have...

Carmel,

Why does Infiniti need to dump Boise? What do you have against Idaho?

My Wish:

People to stop complaining about one of the best 35K cars ever produced. If you dont like it, dont buy it. No matter what any car mfg. does, there will be people who like the car (they buy it) and people who dont (they dont buy it).

The Nissan/Infiniti sales fugures for the past few years are proving they are making very well informed business decisions. Not only did people buy the G35C - most paid sticker price!

I will be at the NYC car show on Sunday and pictures will be posted.

i didnt start this post to be a bitch fest. i love my g. i agree that it is a great car. but all cars can be tweeked to be better. and not necessarily for more money. who better to come up with suggestions then us, the everyday g owners. i thought this post would be a good forum to see what you all think.

don't start no sh*t, won't be no sh*t!
