At that speed, the downforce on the rear wheels from the rear spoiler makes a huge difference to the car's stability. I wouldn't hit that speed without a spoiler unless I was going in a straight line or was on an angled track.

Reminds me of the hoopla after the Audi TT's first came out around 1999... guys on the autobahn lost rear end traction on high speed curves and sweepers, so after 2 or 3 fatal accidents following the car's debut, Audi sent rear spoilers to all their dealerships for free installations.

The RPM differences could be from the different trannies. You have a 6MT the pic is from a 5AT
