Reving beyond the Redline, Help
I'm really really concern right now. I had a major major arguement with my significant other and instead of raising my hands and giving a bitch whooping, I for some reason stomp on the gas pedal really hard while the car's transmission is in park for about 3 times, each time way surpassing the redline and pretty much hitting the very far end of the 9k mark. I was wondering if this will cause any severe damage to my poor baby. Thanks in advance.

The tachometer only goes to 8K rpm and the engine's redline is 6,600rpm. Why would you step on the gas in park for no reason except that you're angry? At least put it in drive and do some aggressive driving or something, lol.

I agree with gsedanman, I really don't think you have anything to worry about (I forgot to state that in my previous post) at all...the engine is greart at high revs, and if any damage was done, the car would have said something.. If you're real angry, try not to let it out at your car, particularly if you're on the road....being emotional while driving may cause you to put yourself and your car at risk. Buy one of those squishy stress ***** next time you're in a heated argument. =)

Juss wondering? Isn't there a fuel cut off? I've been too afraid to hit it, since I heard it was bad for the car.

I agree with the others. Engine is probably fine. You lucked out in 3 ways. Your car is ok. You didn't hit your girlfriend. You didn't go to jail for assault. Next time get out of your car and kick a tire. The worst that could happen is a few broken toes.
