Calling all Coupes with over 100k miles... What problems have you seen???
I'm debating on keeping my 2005 6SPD G35 coupe and currently have 33k. The only problems that I've had so far are a sweaky seat which was tightened/fixed by Infiniti. Other than that its been smooth sailing...
If I do decide to hold onto the G, what issues should I expect to pop up? For you guys with coupes over 100k what are you experiencing? Tranny issues, cracking leather, electrical, brakes, etc...???
Also, would you recommend getting the extended warranty? I owned a 5SPD maxima and drove it to 140k with no problems other than a new starter. In a nutshell, I'm wondering how the G will compare???
And..., how about the clutch? How many miles are you guys getting out of the OEM with light to moderate use?

if u wanna mod it and ur serious about moddin *turbo, etc etc* no need to put a warranty. if u use it as a daily driver and dont plan on doing serious mods on it i suggest gettin the extended warranty. should hold u over will 90k miles. since ur still at 33k .. u still have a WHILE before u hit that mark. ...just my .02 cents
89k here and just normal bs stuff like the disc chnger 3 times, power windows once, driver seat loose... got a few squeaks in my rear suspension on certain roads but nothing major.....did have to replace the starter though.......i bought mine with 32k on it 2 years ago stock and have a few mods
25,000 miles on my 04 Coupe... 2 window motors, one power lock actuator, 2 rearview mirrors, one drivers side seat bolster, CD player is starting to get funky and skip, other than that.. it's perfect. I'm seriously thinking about taking out an extended factory warranty as most things on this car are very pricey...

I've had numerous issues...and am an old timer with 25K on my Coupe. It almost seems like the lower the mileage... the more problems. Go figure.

I have about 96k on mines and honestly there's nothing wrong with the car, i drive it daily and notice little things like, the door remote sometimes wont open the lock and that's about it.
Loving the g had it for sale a while back but decided to stay with it, i am sad to say my next car will be a Mercedes CLS but that's because i might get married and well you know what happens after that.

I have about 122,000 miles on mine. The only serious problem i have had was the driver side seat rocking back and forth. It was a TB on the infiniti website so they took care of it for me. Other than that nothing major at all. I had the axel ticking problem, but that wasn't anything major at all. I have had both rear wheel bearings go out, but i replaced those myself (took about an hour). Other than that the car has treating me well. I am very happy with it.

I'm scared
I'm planning to keep my G till it pretty much eaten away by rust. I have 60+ on mine and every time I take it for oil change it makes me feel sad that my car is getting older and older.
When did you replaced your wheel bearings? At how many miles? Did you have After Market wheels installed before or after replace? if yes what was the offset on the wheels?
Reason I'm asking cuz ppl say that having aggressive offset wheels and spacers will stress our bearings more and you'll end up replacing them sooner.

I have 73k, and just had the starter changed, drivers seat bolster (2x), and axle ticking noise (all fixed under warranty). Non- warranty work was a gas door acuator and pivot bolt (an $8 part) broke which required me to pull out the trans. I then replaced the clutch and flywheel with Clutchmasters stage 3 since I had high milage.
I've only got 43k on my '05 so far but I plan on keeping mine till 100k.
At 35k the 6th gear MT synchromesh went out. New tranny under warranty. That scared me enough to buy an extended warranty when I bought her off of lease.

Not a very aggressive offset, but it looks good. No wheel spacers either.

I recently had my G up for sale and have also decided to hang on to it. For the money that I'd be able to get for the G and the way I've taken care of the car, I just don't think id be worth it to upgrade to something new (just yet). I currently have only 33k on it and am still very much in love.
My father just purchased a CLS550 and its definitely a very nice car. The only issue is that every time he takes it in for service they charge $500+ for the little things. His last bill was $750 since they conned him into getting an alignment. Mercedes is absolutely absurd... But, the CLS definitely makes a statement!
