I race my friend in his VW R32 AWD w/ intake and no cats the other night from a dead stop. I have intake and hyperground wires on my manual g35. From a launch i wuz spinning tires and didnt catch traction till the r32 was about 5 cars ahead of me i finally caught up at like 85 miles an hour and walked by him but he had me till about 85 cuz of awd.

Yep they will jump out on your a fair amount but in the end you will fly right by them. I acutally was considering buying one of them, great little car. Watch out for one with a vortech on it, now thats going to be a different story.

 

You could have taken him from a dead stop. Just get to know your car and its potential...

The R32's are a really nice car. Heck, if they were out during the time when I was car shopping, I could have been posting at the vw forums. haha. Anyways, R32's are running mid to low 14's with a decent driver and I believe one or two people have hit 13.9 or 14.0. Not sure...try looking through the volkswagon forums if you're curious enough.

Oh I also believe that the R32's AWD system isn't exactly full time AWD. I think that it's similar to the G35x's system where it's rear wheel drive unless the front wheels are needed. However, the R32's are reversed where it's front wheel drive unless the rear wheels are needed. So in high speed wouldn't be too bad...they just need to come out with turbo and superchargers for that car.

They alaready have SC or twin turbo setup for the R32 which makes them pretty fast
