HID High Beams

I searched for this answer but couldn't find one. Just out of curiousity since I'm still waiting for delivery of my 5AT: How does Infiniti accomplish high beams with the HID headlights on our G35s? Do they vary the voltage to the same bulb or are there two different HID lamps, one for the high beam and one for the low beam?

Thanks.

Re: HID High Beams

the headlights in the g are as follows:
the low beam on top of the stack (highest up) is a D2R HID system in a reflector housing.

The bigger reflector on the bottom of the stack houses an H4 type Halogen bulb that can either work as a fog light or as a high beam.

The G's do not have a bi-hid system.

Re: HID High Beams

....geesh, I mean come on. Who orders a car, and asks questions this important now? If your expecting Bi-Hid/Xennon lights your going to be disapointed.

The High beam unit is just like any standart dual filiment bulb. The HID is low beam only, but stays on when High beams are activated. Your fogs are like a stanard hi/low bulb, you have either fogs or highs on, or low beams and no fogs at all.

helpful???As for my spelling.....I'm retarded, but hey I'm an American that going to make more money than 99% of the world!
