I have less than 5000 miles on my G and the silver console paint is already chipping. Is this covered under warranty?

I would imagine that it is if they determine that it is a result of a defect in workmanship and not due to wear and tear. Did you bump the console with anything or do you see it simply flaking off? I'd take it to your dealer right away in any case.
