WOT and A/C question

My brothers Acura CL type S will turn off the A/C compressor when the car is running at wide open throttle. Does our G do this?

Re: WOT and A/C question

According to my Coupe ESM, the A/C compressor shuts down at WOT too.

I think most all cars do. Every Nissan/Infiniti I've owned will do this.

Re: WOT and A/C question

Interesting, I wonder why the fine folks at GM left this feature off of my previous car, a 1994 Cavalier???

Re: WOT and A/C question

Because the Cavalier was such a POS that the parasitic losses from the compressor were meaningless.

Re: WOT and A/C question

POS? I had that thing for 7 years, put 100,000+ miles on it and, besides oil changes, all I ever did was replace the alternator (I had a 1200 watt RMS stereo) and the spark plugs at 130,00 miles! Hopefully my new G will be as reliable!

Re: WOT and A/C question

OK, enough bashing of my poor old Cavalier. You guys have no respect. I bet you a million dollars there is not a single person over on CavalierDriver.com making fun of G35s.

hahahaha

(I used just as much sarcasm in this post as in the post about my Cavalier not having the WOT/AC feature)

This place is always good for a quick laugh before bed!

Oh yeah, in all seriousness, my 94 Cavalier had speedcontrolled door locking and ignition controlled unlocking, AND if my windshield wipers were up when I shut the car off they continued ALL the way back down to the where they belong, instead of just stopping wherever they were! It also had 100hp (if the ambiant temp <=74 degrees and I used Ultra 94) to put down on the factory 15s!!!!
If I could only figure out why I ever sold it.....
