Aftermarket OEM Style Spoilers???
Aftermarket OEM Style Spoilers???
I am torn between shelling out $500 for a infiniti factory spoiler versus $180ish to the an aftermarket company. Some listers have mentioned that the quality of the LED unit is subpar on the non OEM spoilers. I understand that they mount in different locations, which is not a concern of mine. What I really want to know is how much of a noticable difference between these spoilers? Does the LED look like trash on the aftermarket spoiler? Anyone out there with a aftermarket OEM type spoiler? Any help would be greatly appreciated. =)
Re: Aftermarket OEM Style Spoilers???
Here, check my post from the Eye Candy forum. I've compared my after market wing LEDs to stack and couldn't tell any difference in the lights. I've been thinking about doing a drunk swap so I can put on an Impul spoiler instead.

Re: Aftermarket OEM Style Spoilers???
Looks wise, they LOOK very similiar, the mounting location is the same, but the method is different......of course, none of that will matter when you have water leakage in your trunk from the aftermarket one...and you have to replace your entire trunk lid.
Do yourself a favor and spring for the OEM Infiniti one that is made better and not prone to leakage, it also includes the underbody air diffusers. You can get a discount if you are a FA member and order from grubbs infiniti in texas...or maybe just try to get your local dealership to meet/beat their price on it.

Re: Aftermarket OEM Style Spoilers???
My Spoiler Depot wing hasn't ever made my trunk leak. Besides you could always loosen the mounting screws and put a little epoxy on and then tighten them back up. I haven't tried this because my truck hasn't had any leaks. And yes you can always order and install some under body diffusers to work with either spoiler.

unless of course, the water is also coming in from all around the brake light assembly. If you compare the gasket and mounting system on the OEM spoilers and aftermarket ones, they are totally different. The mounting method of the OEM spoiler requires no visable holes on the interior of the trunk lid.
Having to get your trunk lid replaced due to a leaky spoiler is not a fun experience, i can assure you.
