2005 6MT vs 2006 6MT G35 sports coupe

What are the differences?

Im deciding whether to purchase a 2005 or 2006 at a dealership currently. 2006 cost more $ and lower km.

What are the main differences?

Both 298 hp 260 pounds of torque and same interior but exterior is a little different.

But Im looking for more details as I don't know much about G35s yet, and i searched the forums and couldn't find anything helpful.

Thanks a lot!

As well, If I buy the vehicle from dealership would I have to worry about oil consumption problems?

For your second question, here is the latest TSB outlining requirements for replacements on rev-up engines. It's relatively straight-forward and you could end up getting a great deal (buy used car, get new engine free). I'm at 17k on an 06' that I purchased used with no consumption yet.

good info, but shouldnt that tsb apply to the autos too, even though there were only a small amt of them with the problem?

In all fairness to any VQ35DE owners I agree it should, but it doesn't with that rev-up TSB and it's consumption replacement chart.
Rev-ups only due it's very common known issue mostly with those, compared to non rev-ups.

Non rev-ups will still qualify under warranty for replacement if consumption is 1qt/1000mi or worse. That's what it was with rev-ups before TSB was released. Trust me, I know.
Same with 350Z TSB...rev-ups only with same replacement OC chart as ours.

I don't see any reason to buy an '05 over an '06, unless you can't afford an '06. Just like I can't see any reason to buy an '03 over an '04.

agreed

only year imo that's kind of pointless was the 07 coupe...almost everything was exactly identical as the 06 (correct me if i'm wrong). so it's smarter to save some dollars and buy an 06.

i would buy an 06 based solely on the projector headlights and new style tails lol

I think the 06 sports has different splash guards up in the front but other than that and exterior lights Id go for the 06 cuz youll probably end up getting the headlights and tails anyway. The 06 sport bumper (i think, dont flame me on this) looks a bit better too.
