To some people, a recovered title is the worst thing ever, but as long as you're aware of what you're getting, and don't expect to get the same resale value as an unblemished car, there's money to be saved. Make sure you run the figures though. How much money would you have to save to make it worth it to you?
On the other hand, there's always the possibility that it'll never drive the same way again. Plus, there might be hidden damage that could negate any initial savings, in terms of both money and frustration. Also, you didn't mention the year. For a few thousand more, you could probably get a year or two older car in great shape.
Bottom line, have the vehicle checked out thoroughly and make sure that $2800 will fix everything, not just make it drivable.

honestly, i will never buy a rebuilt title car!!! my wife didn't know much about car before she met me and she bought a rebuilt Accord 3 years back. she spent so much money fixing that car. the car drove like ****. after we got married the first thing i did was sold her car and get her a new one. we lost so much money selling that car. here's my opinion, if you gonna keep the car until it dies and can live with the car not driving like it suppose to then you save money, otherwise it's a bad deal at the end.
Thanks for the rapid replies guys, its an 04 I was thinking of getting a G soon but the things is funds are tight so I was thinking of maybe a project car being that it is a rebuilt title. More or less just wondering if people had an expierience with a rebuilt title or not. I didnt ever find it to be a good idea but I have never bought a rebuilt myself.
If its going to be a project car then go for it... you can also find 03's with high miles for around 13-14k

Yep, there's a topic about a guy finding an 03 with 98k I think miles it was, for 14k. I would honestly go with a used 03, rather than one of those. It's only another 48k miles, but imo it's a better deal.
i own and operate a rebuilt 06 coupe.
i saved over 15 thousand if not close to 20k on it and have ZERO regrets. the car runs and drives absolutely mint.
the ONLY downside is the lack of warranty...but when you save $20k, who gives a **** lol

also...make sure you either do the work yourself (if you're capable) or you find someone really good to do it
there's nothing to be afraid of when it comes to rebuilt vehicles ...as long as the work is done right, you're saving yourself a whole whack of money
only downside is when it comes to selling...but i'd rather buy a rebuild for 20k and sell it for 10k a few years down the road than buy a brand new one for 60k and sell it for 30k a few years down

Rebuilt Title G35....?
Unless you own a body shop or are an expert in this field purchasing a rebuilt
title G could cost you more than you bargin for. What if it sat in a riverbed
for two weeks, what's it going to be worth....just another rust bucket....worthless! PASS!

Im a painter at dealership, and I own a 03 and a 04 that I fixed my self. I got 11k in one and 9k in the other. Because I fixed them I know they were done right! This sounds funny to me!? $2,800 to fix? If that was the case he would do it him self and make money flipping it! On top of that they would not total that car for $2,800 !!!!!! Trust me this is what I do for a living! Look in the MARKETPLACE, I have two G35's on there that im parting out, I buy totaled G35's and fix them and sell them, then sell all the parts left over. If the car has a (rebuilt title) then it was totaled before, FIXED, and now crashed again! I would look else were.
I wouldn't buy it. I saw 1 rebuilt title I would buy, and that was one where it was only missing a side door, nothing else, looked to be in amazing condition but looks are deciving.
