Shopping for rims, need opinions

So I'm looking for a nice set under 4k, dealing with Carnutz in Bellevue, WA.

The only two wheels I'm interested in so far are the MRR HR4 and the (black) Giovanna Essen, leaning towards the Giovannas more, I'm getting Pirellis regardless of the wheels. One of the guys at the shop sent me pics of a G35 on the HR4 and I don't think they look that good.

What do you guys think? Are there tires that I should get instead of Pirelli?
The final price for the MRRs is $3100, and $3500 for Giovanna.
I have a liquid platinum 06 Coupe and I like the matte black finish on rims with a black lip.

+1, i wouldnt get either of those rims and if you pay that price for either set... you're getting raped. And why are you stuck on Pirelli tires? They are overrated junk IMHO, they cost way too much for average performance.

I have a soft spot for Pirellis, one of my great-grand-relatives was one of the founders of the company.
Maybe you guys can give me some tips then, I really really like what this guy has done with his rims, I think those are Auto Couture Caesar which retail for around ~$6500, but I'm not trying to spend that much on my G. If you know something similar for <4$k please let me know.

Eeek, I don't think either of those look good. For that price, would you be willing to get some CCW or HRE wheels?

I don't think you can get an HRE set for under $4k, as far as CCWs go just peeked their website, don't really like their stuff.

So I decided to go with the Giovannas, should have pictures by next saturday, worst case scenario I'll go back to the stock 18s if it looks horrible.

I think you might be alone with that opinion unfortunately. Or at least with not very many people =/

Get quality wheels that belong on a G, not MRR. Go with Work, Volk, DPE, HRE, Advan, or another good brand. Also look in the Marketplace, there is always good deals there.
