It's INFINITI not INFINITY

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

I just got my 350GT emblem today. I love the Infiniti and the logo and would never change it. As for putting turbo on a non-turbo car, our cars are really 350GT's. I want to put this emblem on because there are too many non-enthusiast G35 drivers out there, and I want to distinguish myself to the other car enthusiats that I am not merely a kid who bought the G35 because it looks cool.

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

Nothing really. Here's a rephrasing:

Everyday I see a ton of coupes and sedans with old people, stupid girls who can't drive, guys who can't drive, and all these types of people who I don't want to drive our car. I don't like to judge but this is the reality. I love it when I can see a face, give them a nod and know that they love their G with knowledge of it, as I do. The G35 has become the Japanese 3 series. Since there is no available M3 version to purchase, I must do something to differentiate myself from the other 30 G's I see on a daily basis.

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

i have not debadge my car but the only part that i want to debadge is the g35 emblem. i guess it makes it uneven. i thought about putting on skyline/350gt but there is no such thing as infiniti skyline, and i think infiniti's emblem looks so much better than nissans, so yah

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

I always felt debadging and/or rebadging was for posers that want people to make others think their car is something else, or something better (like debadging a 325 so people think it might be a 330).

Regarding debadging/rebadging because it changes others perceptions of me: Bah, I dont think I could possibly care any less about how the appearance of my car influences the way people think of me.

If you like the way it looks go for it, but don't do it for other people, that's kind of silly.

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

I debadged for two reasons:

1) liked the clean-look w/o the text

2) really liked the ease of cleaning/waxing (do it often too)

i agree w/ above - i dont care what the heck others think about me (i debadged my fx45 for awhile too).....

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

debadging is for posers? i agree some people take off their bmw 325 to make it look like a 330, or a s420 to look like s500, but i dont think there is another model of G35. i think there was a thread about this b4 saying there is no difference between the skyline and the g35.

but yea, i debadged mine cuz it looks cleaner. i can always put them back on.

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

Allow me to pose this question once more:
Does anyone have a picture of the rear end with just the Infiniti emblem excluding the G35 and the word Infiniti? I am going to have the dealer (free of charge) do this when I pickup my ordered 2004.

to each their own...if we all had the same taste, there would be no uniqueness.

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

eperalta,
Here a pic of my car with just the Mt Fuji. I didn't leave mine like this, but I took pictures of each stage as I debagged. I know a lot of people like the symmetry of just the logo or logo with the word "Infiniti" I rebagged mine with just the GT350 without the Skyline because I like the way it looks. Plus, I think of it as a little nod to other enthusiasts on the road. Maybe best of all my Zaino obsession just got a little easier. ;P

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

I would debadge it myself, not let the dealer do it. One of the G35 in's my neighborhood got part of his paint messed up when they basically tore the emblems off.

Re: Regrets of Debadging??

Whoa - I must have been pretty tire when I wrote my last post. First of all I debadged my car not debagged ;-P and rebadged it with 350GT not GT350, whoops. Anyway, I had a ton of glue to get off in the process. I used Goo Gone and some Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover. Neither worked very well and in the end it took alot of elbow grease. I didn't cause any scratches but if you’re not carefully you could easily scratch the paint getting the glue off. I wish I had tried the 3M stuff.
