Regretting my clear bra install!

Had a custom install job done and I am not happy! There are small spots on it in a few places and all he can tall me is that thay should go away. There is also a spot with water in it he says will evaporate. Will the water damage the paint?

No, the water want damage the paint. Some minor bubbles are normal. I have a few. If it is really noticeable then have then get them out, otherwise, they do tend to go away with time.

yep.. my bubbles went away. took awhile.. park in the sun and dont wax it yet (wont be able to breathe out the water).

Resist the urge to rub the bubbles. The oils from your finger will prevent the water from evaporating thru the bra. I had been obsessing over one larger bubble. It wasnt going away. I noticed my finger print, so I went in and got some rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab. To my surprise, the bubble went away like the next day or two.

Re: Regretting my clear bra install!

The water bubbles and air pockets will go away. Clear Bra installs are the same as window tinting. Both will have small air bubbles and water pockets. Both of which will go away in time. If the bubbles are still there in 30 days, take it back to your installer and have them remove the bra and reapply. I had a couple of spots that had air and it began lifting from the inside corners of the air dam. My installer was unsatisfied with it, and so pulled off the bumper application and reapplied. Obviously for free. Be patient, but don't be afraid to talk to your installer after a couple of weeks if it has not gone away.

Thanks for the reply's. I feel a little better now. My other question is that it was a custom fit, so he basically cut the film over the car. I noticed a small cut on the mirror and the bottom of the bumper where he may have cut into the paint a little. Is this a problem?

What brand of bra did they use? I'm thinking of getting 3M but I heard that there were some better ones out there.

if he used a really sharp xacto and didnt press hard, you can buff out a small cut. you dont cut the CB, you score it and then pull it apart. He probably wasnt pressing hard as you dont actually try to cut thru it
