g35 problems?

I'm ready to buy a g35 sport coupe MT and I'm conserned about problems that the 350Z owners have been having, and I would like to know if any of the g35 owners have had the same problems. The main problems I've heard on the 350 forums are manual transmission grinding and even failing, and tire coupling? I beleive that they call it coupling, basically the tires are only lasting 15,000 miles at the most. Now I hear that the tire problem has been fixed on the 04 model but I test drove a 04 track and it grinded 2nd gear at least 3 times. Is the manual transmission on the g35 the same as the 350 z manual? Thanks for your help

Re: g35 problems?

It is the same transmission, and some G35 owners have reported problems with their manual trannies, but I haven't had any problem with mine, and for some reason there seems to be much fewer problems among G owners with the tranny than the 350Z owners are having.

I haven't heard of any tire problems with the G35 Coupe. The 6MT has different tires (Michelin Pilot Sports) than the 350Z has.

The only problems I've had are some rattles in the interior, a creaking moonroof, and a nav system that locks up sometimes when its hot out (I think that's been fixed with new firmware though).
