Re: HID auxilary lights

If I may ask, where did you find the JDM HID foglights for 1400? The best place I can find them at is www.japanparts.com for 1650.49. Please advise. Many thanks in advance!

I have a hard time believing that any aftermarker bulbs can make your visibility 2x better than stock. even high beams would probably not project that much lighting.

Re: HID auxilary lights

Remember Our highbeams are not HID.... they are just regular bulbs. D2R with reflector will have a cut off line and D2S with Projector will havea cut off line too, but if you put D2S in a reflector HID then you will have NO cut offline. It basically got rid of all the restrictions you have from factory while it looks completely stock when u open up ur hood if cops pull u over (for the color)

I will take some pix tonight and show u guys.

Re: HID auxilary lights

but our housing are not made for the d2s bulbs because we "do not" have projector headlight, so installing the d2s bulbs will actually make the beam pattern uneven and produce a glare.

Re: HID auxilary lights

I have those Hella Micro DE driving lights. They are too bright, believe me. They are so bright, that people think I have them aimed directly at them. I get flashed so much, that I don't even turn them on anymore. I had them installed so they work with the factory switch. The high-beams work the same as before, but the factory fogs are disconnected. If you want to see pics with them on compared to off, let me know and I'll take some...

Re: HID auxilary lights

actually, my beam pattern on my car is completely even. well acutally right is higher than left which is normal. if you look at the headlight, it looks just like stock.. but once you can get into the car. u can see much better

Those are awful pictures to be judging headlight beams with.I'm not sayin your new lowbeam bulbs arent brighter, but I really doubt it is 2Xs brighter. Also, what kind of bulbs did you buy?Did look just like stock.

Re: HID auxilary lights

Yeah. Is there anyway you could show the beam pattern against a wall like GG did in this thread?

if you look closely in my pic, you can notice taht the new beam pattern is significantly wider than the stock beam pattern.

Re: HID auxilary lights

Actually, I'm more interested in the glare/upper cutoff issue. If there is little to no additional glare, I'd rather go with the d2s than the d2r for the additional lumen output.

Re: HID auxilary lights

i am not here to argue with u because i have these D2S bulbs so i know i can see better at night.
mayb u can borrow a pair D2s bulbs from ur friend's projector hid like bimmers and put it on to see if what i am saying is true or not.
