If i buy my g35 is it going to guzzle oil and grind the brakes

I'm in the market for a new car and the G is at the top of my list. I found a 04 5AT coupe with 32k for 18G's. I decided to avoid the 6MT because of the oil consumption TSB and then i discover that G's like to eat break pads. Is this heavy break wear a very common issue or is it only for certian years/model/vins? I just wants a well rounded sexy coupe but it sucks that i have to sacrifice the MT to get a G.

Edit:
Is cost of maintence very expensive. I understand the gas premium but anything else that sticks out?

First off, its 6mt.
2005 & 2006 6mt's are the only ones that had oil consumption.
2003 had issues with the brake rotors going very quick. Fixed for 2004 I believe.
Have the car tested for oil consumption if your worried. Infiniti will replace the engine if it fails after purchase.
So if you want a 6mt 2005 or 2006 don't worry about it.

I've got an '04 6MT (Brembos) and at 47K+ miles I'm on the original rotors. I'm not certain, but I believe the brake pads I changed at 38K were only the first time they've been changed.

anybody know where to get a loan for an 18 year old with no credit and probaly no co signer. putting down 20% and have money in the bank for like 6-7 months of car payments. I'll be making 30K a year but i just got the job.. anybody know where i can go i don't care about a 15% interest rate for a while...

What sort of monthly payments you looking for?

With 20% down on 18K, your loan would be $14,400.

In all honesty I don't know if you'll be able to get a loan. I bought my G used at 22 and my "loan" was from my parents - I put 25%+ down of my own, then I paid off what I owed my parents in 10 months by paying quite a bit per month. I didn't even try to look into loans for me, because I knew the interest rates would be outrageous, and that's if I even got approval at all.

It'll be tough for you to get a loan with no credit at all and no cosigner. You should pick up a credit card and use it just for gas and stuff and pay it off in full every month... do that ASAP so you can start building some credit. At some point in the near future, you'll need credit for more serious things than used cars and it takes a while to build it up.

You can't convince a parent to cosign for you?

not at the moment maybe in a few months, but i don't want to be stuck buying a 6g piece of junk so i really need to find a bank or some type of lending instution that will buy me. I'm sure dealers will be able to work with me they love selling financing.

I'm almost in the exact same situation, got my car at 23 about 2.5 months ago, put about 45% down in cash and took out the rest on a loan from my parents. I worked for a year at a biotech company and made pretty good money, so I could almost pay the rest now from my savings, but they're not charging me interest so I'd rather have some liquid assets available to me for emergencies and such.

Even at my age and taking into account my frugal spending habits, this car wasn't the most financially sound idea, but I figure I only live once and I wanted this car so why not.
