Question Stillen Grounding Kit Worthless??

ARRRGH I bought the Stillen Grounding Kit for my coupe before I read about Gordgee's (sp?) kit, and other member's thoughts about Stillen's!!! Am I hosed for $100? Is this Stillen kit COMPLETELY worthless? MAN I should have researched this, I just 'trusted' the Stillen name!

grounding kits are just for dress up imo...even if gordgees are better i'm sure it won't be a noticeable difference...with a 6mt you won't notice anything...I've read that the tiptronics on ATs shift faster but I don't believe it...jmo

I'm eventually going to get around to doing this mod for my AT. Yeah Gordgee is the way to go, it's all over this forum. And yes, you should have done your research.

The Stillen kit is just as good as GordGee's, just more expensive, is all.

That being said, grounding kits are mainly for engine dressup. If you think they are actually worth something performance wise, please do a search on this forum and my350z.com to see the arguments for both sides. I'm not going to rehash them.

It's a rather inexpensive mod, so why not! Even though I get 1Hp out of it, no biggie.

Grounding kits are not useless, doesn't matter whether you have auto or manual transmission. When grounding and doing so properly it will make sure there is a good flow of current through the vehicle. If you have additional electrical components, such as an audio system it will make a big difference. However, in audio, it's recommended to to use 1/0 wire and also known as the Big 3.

I always thought it was just for dress up. I find it hard to beleive the factory did that bad of a job getting our cars grounded.

It's not that the factory grounding is bad, it just improves it and makes it more stout. It probably isn't needed. I personally will be doing an audio setup and every bit of help I can get will make a difference.

lol ...that's the first negative Groundinggear I have seen. Good job man. .
I saw people only said positive feedbacks about the kit, so I bought mine last couple weeks to try it out. But again, my personal satisfaction is based on my butt not people's reviews. Let's see how it turns out.

I'm going to try something myself. Gonna see if doing a ground from the transmission to the ground makes a difference since it was one of the additional wires that other kits don't offer. If it works, it works. If not, no big deal, it's only a short run of wire. I am skeptical at times of the results because some people state HP gain, which I don't see being possible.
