Yes i had to remove mine from the plastic housing as well. But i am talking about the metal round base of the key that sticks out to one side. The cutter could only fit the key in one way. I will try and bring it to another place today to get it cut again but like everyone else....it seems the key is too thick.

He is going to stop selling them until he gets the right key blanks which he said he would get soon. He is sending me the flip part from a nissan one he has (it's the same key as Infiniti) that is thin and will work (he tested it) but he only has a few of them and he has to ruin the nissan ones to do it. He offered to refund my money but I really want this key. I was going to dremel out the blank the locksmith made me and get it to fit the thing if I had to but he called me back with the solution he had found.
Over all I have never delt with anyone so helpful on ebay and I was very impressed since I sort of had made up my mind that I was going to get screwed but I could fabricate a solution with my trusty dremel

On another note the thing is only slightly larger than the stock remote (I have rubber jacket on mine and they are almost the same size) and it eliminates the keys hanging off (I hate jingling keys in my pocket) so it is all I have to carry. I almost never need my house key since my wife gets home before me and I will just hide one in the garage for emergencys.

drats, I bought it from that seller too. were u able to at least get the remote to work?

Derzigster - What was his number? I got the same key and it sounds like all the keys are too thick. I'm just going to ask for a refund.

The remote worked like a charm. The phone number was on the ebay page.
It is 866-955-5397 and the guy I spoke to was Jason I believe (I left the paper at work).Tell him you are having the same issue as Jeff that he spoke with on Thursday. He may be able to send you the right blade. He had a few of them left when I talked to him.

There should be a tiny roll pin that you have to press out to release the blade.

A roll pin is a rolled up piece of metal that has a bit if spring to it. A safty pin is too thin and will just pass through the center of it. I used a piece of a thick paper clip and a hammer. whatever you use has to be blunt (flat) so it does not go in the center and spread the pin open.

I called Jason (MyKeyless) about the key being to thick and he is going to send me a new key. He said they are aware of the problem and is taking care of it. Very nice guy, said just give him a call if you bought the 4 button remote and the key is too thick.

So on monday I'm getting some 4 button flip keys. Do y'all want me to put those up for sale? They would be $32 shipped.

Which ones are they? The same ones being sold by mykeyless on ebay that are too thick? What do they need to work? If they have their own transponder/remote (and actually work), I'm definitely in.

All I know is it is just the shell. It requires the remote, transponder, and key cut. I'll wait to update the specifics when I get the keys.

Is their a way for me to test the thickness of the blade in the ignition without cutting it. I dont want it to become stuck in my ignition.

If you have calipers just measure your normal key and then the flip key. If not just hold them next to each other and maybe you can see the difference.
