Changing Stock 35

I got some quick basic after market questions. I am buying a stock G35 6 speed and want to make some modifications to increase the performance but am concerned about damaging the engine. Can anyone give me some ideas that will boost the performance but not destroy my engine or cause significant maintenance issues. I don't want to spend more than 5k. Also, does adding these modifications void out the warrantee. Thanks.

Re: Changing Stock 35

maybe you can ask your dealer for a dealer installed supercharger system (i dont know how obtainable it is but ive seen in another post how the dealer offers them) if it is from the dealer themself, i dont see how it can void the "warantee"
(next time its warranty)

I'd say for $5,000 you could do a considerable amount of mods....depending on where you want to gain the power/torque.

Some dealers are quite **** about "modifications" of any type.
However, some here have posted that a few dealers actually welcome and do install aftermarket equipment and still honor the factory warranty. You may want to check around in your area for the most Mod friendly dealer and give it a shot......

As far as mods, do a search in the Tech/mod forums and see the different approaches members have taken to increase performance of their cars....everything from intakes to exhaust/cats Y pipes.....internal changes like cams or plemums and intake systems.....of course turbo and superchargers are among the high dollar mods, but I'm sure the performance would justify the cost.....The last two would probably give you the highest chance of premature engine failure do to the extra strain you would be putting on the bottom end of the motor....(that would probably be true of Nitrous also,,,many engines go boom when not set up correctly....)
