Need to Vent - Got Hit

Just once I would like to own a car that some idiot doesnt hit. Is that too much to ask for in LA ? Why cant people just look before they back up. When I bought my G in January I immediately purchased a 2nd car to reduce the risk of dings, accidents etc, my G's only got 2,300 miles on it and was spotless, babied to the max. So im leaving for lunch and this Azz just backs out of a parking spot and wipes out my drivers side fender, light, bumper. Sh_t ahhhhh I am so pissed.

Re: Need to Vent - Got Hit

Sorry to hear your luck went bad.....some people are just idiots, and should not be allowed to drive.....

I'm hoping you caught this person in the act and filed an accident report......
Good side is the car can be repaired....a little bit of an inconvenience, but it will be like new.......just select a good repair shop and everything will be alright.....

So far all the damage to my car has been either self inflicted, I hit a garbage can and creased my front fender, slid into a curb in the snow and screwed up my front rim, and my wife tagged my back bumper and put a couple of nice chips in it as well...

I've since had the fender and the wheel repaired, and did some touch up on the chips on my bumper.....sooner or later the front bumper will need to be repainted.....so I'll see if I can get a deal on doing both front and rear pcs......

Oh yeah I got him and was yelling at him, needless to say he didnt say to much considering I was a bit loud and pissed. He was a courier and said oh no im going to loose mu job over this, I looked right back and said I hope you do, bacause you shouldnt be driving for anybody.

I was actually in the car passing behind him , I couldnt hit the gas as someone was in fron of me and I couldnt get in in reverse quick enough. Just couldnt get out of his way.

And yeah I got all his info and already filed a report.

I know it can all be fixed but to me once a car is hit its always been hit no matter how minor to me its never the same because I know its been hit.

Well on the bright side that 1 ding I put on the passanger side rim.......looks like ill be putting it on the drivers side and get a new rim out of it too.

Re: Need to Vent - Got Hit

i agree man...once a car is damaged..it will NEVER be the same....my car got hit on the passenger side backdoor..the dealer replaced it ....since its not my fault so i didn't have to pay...anyway...the door just doesn't seem the same to me....like..it seems like there's a gap...or maybe it was there b4..but now i know!.....
and when i tried to trade in my lexus at a BMW dealership...i got keyed b4 so there's a small make on the side of the door..but i had my dealer to repaint and i can't even tell if its there...but the stupid expert at BMW ...just look at it from like 10 feet away..and he pointed it out...seriously..those guys r good..i personally can't even find it even if i look carefully..so..that tells u..no matter what..it won't be the same anymore....

Re: Need to Vent - Got Hit

oK, now that my temper is to a low boiling point reaching a simmer. I have to look at the posatives. When I purchased my coupe the dealer drilled the bumper for the plate so now that I have to have the bumper replaced it solves that issue. Do you guys think the body shop will install a Nismo bumper if I pay the difference in cost from the factory bumper ?

after close inspection the bumper is definatley trashed theirs a puncture hole through it, the headlight is chipped and the fender is creased above the wheel. But it looks as if nothing inside is tweaked at all the bumber was pushed in right in front of the side marker and it looks like there is nothing insde where it was hit. the hood is also tweeked a little out of allignment. So its looking like its just cosmetics and no real serious damage , although it still Sux out Loud.

Re: Need to Vent - Got Hit

The worst is when it's idiots that shouldn't be driving--driving nice cars! Today, I was in the right lane of a 6-lane road (3 in both direction), signaled and changed to the middle lane as I passed this car, then this idiot in a bright-red Lexus SC430 in the far-left lane decided to pass (ironically) a G35 sedan as I was already completely in the lane beside him (and 1/3 of a car length behind him). He did not signal and started nudging over against me and continued to force his way in, even as I was laying on the horn, forcing me to brake hard. Once I had room, I whipped around him and gave him the finger; he was completely oblivious to everything. I shoulda slammed on my brakes to make him hit me and look like it was his fault, but there would've been too many witnesses; lucky for him, I was in a hurry to get back to work or I would have made his drive to wherever he was going a living hell!

Re: Need to Vent - Got Hit

As long as the bumper needs to be replaced, I don't see why they would not put the Nismo bumper on if you paid the difference. 'Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as you thought.

Re: Need to Vent - Got Hit

the whole passenger side rim thingy... if you do switch rims then make sure you switch tires also, cause i think they're directional tires, and the insurance or auto body shop might notice something fishy!
(i dont in any way condone anything illegal)

Re: Need to Vent - Got Hit

hey,

im sorry to hear about your accident...i got hit by someone too, so i know how it feels, and yep the car defintely doesn't feel the same, i've thought about selling or trading in my car because of this, but what if i get hit again with another brand new car...

you might want to consider getting the nimso front replica...instead of the original....what if you get hit again or hit something with a $800 bumper....that would suck...

Re: Need to Vent - Got Hit

sorry to hear. my daily driver (04 sentra) just got rear ended.

depending on the damage, it could be as good as new.

Re: Need to Vent - Got Hit

StudlyMobile,

at least it was the daily driver ! Now ill be in my Green Machine 96 Saturn SLT woo woo 4 banger or maybe its a 97 I forget. Hmm good thought on the tires from another post I cant just switch the rims, now switching the tires seems like a hassle. And on 2nd though no need for the Nismo bumper , i think ill go with a nice clean stock one with no drill holes and a Gaila Grill yeah thats the ticket.
