You are gonna need more than simple bolt-ons to keep up with some of those cars. If you are planning on boosting the car...save your money and just start there. While our cars are not slow out of the box, they are not incredibly fast either, when compared to some of the cars you listed above. TT's and a good engine build will put you right up there if not faster than most of your buddies.

I have z-tube and pop charger and I'm in the nova area and havent experienced any problems with it sucking in "hot" air and stalling. Its been like 103 with heat index and such and I havent had this problem. Plus I love the whistle sounds and the growl it has at 4k+ rpm's.

My opinion on first mods to get, tint, rims, coilovers/springs for the drop. Then you decide bodykit, headlight mods, roof spolier blah blah blah. The list is endless but tint drop and rims make the car sickness.

Welcome to Forums and check out NGC.

See ya around.

Edit: What color is your G35?

Congrats on the nice find, and welcome to the G family. I'm in NoVA too, used to work in McLean (Tyson's really) until we moved to Reston a few weeks ago.

No need to run a spacer with the kinetix plenum...

Fast Intentions resinated test pipes w/ exhaust, aftermarket plenum or spacer, Injen Cold Air Intake and a tune should give you a little power til you go FI...

Time for lots of research.

btw welcome

Heard mixed reviews about LA tint, might wanna swing by NGC forums and ask if anyone has gone there. I got my tint from a local guy for $160 or 180 I believe, I put 30% on the stock G and after installed it came out to 22%. I think it looks real good without being a cop magnet.

Edit: What dual exhaust did ya go with?

I do not see why it would be a problem...the reflash should still work with the new motor.

its not that it wont work with the new engine, the dealership wont replace it under warranty if they run a scan and see that you've modified your ecu

i had a long talk with the dealership that has done the maitenance on my g35 before i bought it and the guy told me dealerships are usually very questionable when it comes to mods and warranty

he told me there i would be able to get away with anything as far as the exhaust system went and that i could do a cold air and anything with the manifold....but if i decided to do the manifold he told me they would charge a couple hours labor if the engine was replaced since it would be an aftermarket part, obviously this puts the turbo out of the question until next summer

^ That's the cool part about technosquare's reflash...dealer has no way in telling anything was modified. ECU reads clear. Everything as far as the dealer is concerned looks normal.

As the others have said if you are planning to go turbo don't getany engine mods whatsoever as they will need to be replaced. Go for cosmetics and suspension. You will be surprised how it will change the handling aspecs of your ride. Get yourself some nice wheels, a body kit and a drop.

Tein springs are a favorite here on the forum but remember that you will need to get adjustable camber arms in the front and rear after you drop or else you will wear out your tires. Do a search in the forced induction section for all the local tuners in your area and check out some of the problems people have had with the various turbo kits. Then you can make a decision sa to where you want to go and depending on how deep your pockets are.

Good luck and congrats on the ride.

^ +1 but in my opinion I would go with Coilovers...I did springs right off the bat. Recently I switched to Tein Flex Coilovers and it made me wish I would have done that in the first place instead of being cheap. The way the car handles is a night and day difference.
