why didnt infiniti ever consider a 6at? it would have made our autos much better IMO. 5 gears FTL

 

I belive that the 09's with be available with 7AT.

 

cause they never thought in the beginning that this car would be so popular within car enthusiasts.

Because the at in our Gs came out of the existing Q45. It's a good, stout tranny. But when it came time to up the ante and redo the auto, they went straight to the 7 gear unit. Makes no sense to make a 6at, when the rest of the industry is going 7+ gears in there's. Probably helps accelaration and mpg also

 

5AT is good enough for me-

I'd be fine with 4AT personally. You have a overdrive gear thats long enough- I'd hate to have to deal with 2 (and a half) overdrive gears... personally.

 

4at sucks. Only 3 forward gears makes the gear spacing way too wide. But with the turbo, it's a moot discussion
