Your friend is just jealous...

I would point to the intercooler and say "that's the only visual mod I need"...

If he ever bitches at you again after that, just look at him with a serious face and make the blow off valve noise.... ptiiiish... and he'll remember who's the boss

You made a perfectly fine decision. Some people opt not to tinker with the motor due to the fact they are worried about reliability. But you seem to have done everything correctly so reliability is not going to be a factor.

+1 YOU Def made the right decision, paint jobs dont last long unless you trailer your car everywhere and wheels will pry get curb rashes if you ever have to park anywhere other than a garage or driveway.

I see in the near future you being -1 ignorant friend ;D PS don't give him a ride to really gget at em!

This is somewhat off topic but I was wondering what inspires someone to spend 15 grand on the motor. I am not being a dick, just wondering. I know domestic drivers do things like that but most of those guys race, I am not assuming you don't just don't see as many people doing it. Why spend 15k on a G35 as opposed to getting an M3 or a Cayman, is it just because you particularly like the G35 or because modding is a process in itself and keeps you from getting bored?

i spent that much money because im going to school this sept 28 for nursing for about 2 years and for that 2 years i will be MIA from everyone...i would want to get in my car after a big test or stress from school and just be happy...i did this to be a big stress reliever from problems and also to get noticed...

As far as your question, there is no right and wrong but I would also preffer a turbo kit instead of a widebody kit.

Ca. resident and mods....?

Most of us think you made the right move mod wise, but have you considered
that the CHP is stopping vehicles on suspicion of illegal mods? Will your G35
pass smog here in our out of funds state? Good luck with school!

You could have just gotten a Supra and turned the boost up, lol. Or even traded the G + $15K and gotten a BMW 335i TwinTurbo STOCK.

Seriously though thats a weird comparison for him to make. But its a basic fundmental difference. Do you wanna LOOK good? Or do you wanna FEEL good? The G's already a good looking car so...
