Re: G35c or Ci?

thank you all for covering everything that i thought about these two cars. my dad is hung up on BMW's for some odd reason i dont know why - probably because you see so many and whatever i dunno - but i do know that when he says "lets go to the BMW dealership" hes thinking 325 NOT 330 - BUT 325 is going to be close to the price of a G35c and the G35c blows the 325 out of the water...i just hope he understands this as well as i do and you all do....
overall i too feel the G is a better buy - with BMW everything is an option - i priced a 325 at about 37K - that was WITH heated seats (option) - with harmon kardon stereo (option) - with sunroof (option) and with leather NOT leatherette - i chose these options because this is what the g35c i priced would have in it - well BOSE instead os harmon kardon but you get the idea - yes those price out pretty close - BUT - you can forget about that extra 90 or so horses

- hopefully he will get it thru his head lol

thanks again!

Re: G35c or Ci?

The 330ci was my only choice for a next car (when I decided it was time to sell my '95 325is, which wasn't any time soon) until I saw the G35C at the '03 auto show in NYC last April. I traded the Bimmer on a new Diamond Graphite 6MT/Nav two months later. I simply had to have it, RIGHT NOW.

I have no regrets. NO REGRETS.

Did I mention that I don't regret the decision? Just checking...

The G35C is the best car I've ever owned by far. WAY far...

I did this same comparo when I bought my G. You can't compare the 325 to the G. If you do the power of the G will be highly impressive in comparison. The 330 is another 8K or so and they don't give loaner cars for service less than 3 hours worth of service work and 2 weeks notice. I like knowing I only need one days notice and I will ALWAYS get a loaner. Will your dad pick you up and take you to work when it needs service and then take you back to the dealer when it is finished?

Re: G35c or Ci?

BMWs are great driver cars, just not for the price when there are many other options available now. However, one thing they have that's hard to beat is name recognition. This is probably what your dad is stuck on, the brand name. Infiniti doesn't have it yet, but the G35 Coupe is rated as one of the highest resale value cars out right now. Anyways, the 325Ci is not comparable to the G35c. For the price difference between the 330Ci and G35c, you can get the G35c plus a kickass aftermarket stereo or a super/turbo charger.
