Re: Biggest Complaint???

I'm making my own rules and adding one more complaint. The cas cap holder on the fuel door!! It never holds the cap right. A simple gust of wind will blow it off the holder. Crap!

Re: Biggest Complaint???

One thing I hate is mostly my fault. I have scratched my rims too many times. The bitch of it is that I usually do it trying to park next to a curb on the end of the row so nobody will ding my door. I end up scratching the rim instead. I figure all this means is I'll be buying some new rims soon!!

Re: Biggest Complaint???

Pro: I get so many compliments from the ladies.
Con: I get so many compliments from the guys.

No really, I love everything about this car. The front passenger seatbelt rattle would probably be the biggest thing, but its fixable with a little cushioning velcro.

Everytime I park the car, I walk about 10 feet, turn around and go "Wow! Now that's awesome ride. Oh wait, that's mine!" and I carry on but with a smile.

When people come up to myself and ask how much did I pay. I always make them guess. Usually they say $42K, $46K, some are as high as $60K and I simply say "Good guess." while never revealing the true price.

Re: Biggest Complaint???

Complaint: 1)Memory seats should have been a no-brainer. 2)Having to answer...So, how you like your G? on a daily basis

Pro: Having a car that causes people to ask me that question.

Re: Biggest Complaint???

Hehe, memory seats. I get in the car using the --driver's-- side door. I make the other three people get in using the --passenger's-- side door. Or they can walk.

Re: Biggest Complaint???

For those who complain about the plastic doorhandles....i used to complain that y would a $30K+ car have plasticky doorhandles...until i rode in a Lamborghini Gardello...can u imagine paying $100K+ for a car and it has worse doorhandles than our G? it has plastic in the same place as our G's Door, the handle to close the door and the handle to open the door. Plastic!? it even creaked! and this was brand spankin' new! yikes! i don't feel so bad anymore =)

Re: Biggest Complaint???

Seems to me that the G was designed nicely and the engine was built nicely, but manufactured with cheap parts...

Re: Biggest Complaint???

Complaint: That fancy display in the middle of the dash should include trip info/mpg, DTE. Having to calculate my gas consumption with pen and paper at the pump- in a car this expensive? Even my '98 Jeep GC had all this!
Also-
-Cheap interior- that silver console begs to be scratched
-Seat belt placement. You shouldn't have to be a professional contortionist to buckle up.
-The oil dipstick- takes a mule team to pull it out and a group of highly skilled surgeons to get it back in.
-Gas mileage is like a big block V8. Base Vette gets better MPG!

Likes:
-Handles like a Porche or upper-end BMW.
-Nice power and exhaust growl.
-Some of the best looking head/tail lights on any car out there.
-All-round beautiful shape.

Nice thing about getting old- my Insurance Premiums are less then yours!

Cons: Wish the doors weren't so damn heavy.
Mirrors should adjust when reversing. I suck at
parallel parking and this would help alot. )

Pros: Luxurious and Sporty at the same time.
The attention you get when everyone knows you dRive
one.
How everyone else you know that drives Toyotas and
Hondas think you're "Money Bags" *BLing BLingin* ;o)
Not a common car you see on the roads.

Re: Biggest Complaint???

Con: Paint chips easily, but this is the fault of the EPA and is common for all new cars.

Pro: All the cons in this thread are really minor, no one can list a major problem.

Re: Biggest Complaint???

My complaints are really based on Nissan's philosphy for Infiniti. Infiniti should be more distinguished than what it is. Specifically, this car does not have enough sound deadening material. It needs to be quieter than it is so that it does not transmit so much road noise and debris noise coming off the tires. If it just had more sound deadening it would automatically feel more expensive. Similarly, the interior parts and materials are not bad, but they're sooo Nissan. Is there that much difference between the G35's interior and the Maxima's . . .c'mon, both dashes are really interchangeable, and that sucks. The G35 needs to be more upscale with better quality materials and more options (like memory seats; blue tooth connectivity; rain sensing windshield wipers, better stereo, etc.) I, for one, would have paid 5K more for the G35 to be more upscale. Until Infiniti moves the G35 upscale, two things will remain to be true: (i) it will be considered a 4 seat 350Z which is not really the point. It should be more of a luxury coupe; (ii) too many young punks driving what should've been an upscale sophisticated car catering to people 35 or older . . . .

Actually, it really bothers me that there are too many kids driving this car. The last thing I wanted to do is drive a "Camaro-substitute" Argghhh!

Re: Biggest Complaint???

CON- to many old people driving the car like old people drive cars, having to hand over a list of little things to fix to the dealer EVERY oil change, the metal on the center edge of the door is week and now bent in from passengers opening there doors in to other cars. seat backs
PRO- the twin turbo g35 driving around DC beating up so called super cars, downshifting on a curve
