6MT vs M6 (any difference?)

I'm in Canada.. not sure if this matters but it appears that they call the 6MT the M6 here.

Any ideas?

When they advertise a 2004 g35 coupe w/ bose, manual 6 speed, brembo they call it an m6

Are they the same thing?

any help would be great

6MT - 6 (gear) Manual Transmission

5AT - 5 (gear) Auto Transmission

M6 - Manual 6

Sounds like the same thing to me...

Canadian Inifiniti dealerships call the 6-speed manual an "M6". American dealerships call it a "6MT"

Yes, the 6MT and M6 are the exact same thing. It's no different than some of our colors being called different names than in the US.

To state the honest truth, there is an Infiniti G35 Sedan around here that has the "X" badge replaced with a BMW ///M Badge. Disgrace.
