New Member | New Car | Any Tips?

First Off, I Just Got My G A Couple Months Ago And Now I Found You Guys! I Have A 2005 G35 Coupe 5AT (Tiptronic), Athens Blue, OEM Spoiler, Black Leather Interior, 30K. Beautiful Car! The Only Thing I Would Change Would Be the Trans. 6MT Would Make Me Much Happier, But I Got What I Got! It's Actually At Infiniti right now getting the 30K Recommended Maintenance.

I'm Looking To Start Off With Small Improvements On The Look Of The G And Eventually Get To Performance Upgrades. I've Come Here To See What You Guys Have To Offer. Any Tips? First, Any Suggestions On Look, Then When It Comes Time To Upgrade Performance, What Should I Do?

By The Way, The Name Is Felix. I'm In The Military And Am Stationed In Arizona. So Far, I Love My Car! Glad To Have Found This Forum, And To Be A G Owner!

Thanks!

I'm definitely going with the clear corners and tint. That will probably get done in the next couple weeks since it is so cheap. I haven't decided on the brake light overlays, I'm not sure if I like them... Especially with the Athens Blue, what do you guys think? but if I do go with the overlays, where could I find them. A tint shop? Auto shop?

Please explain the spacer to me. What can I expect to get out of my car once that is in it? I know the exhaust and intake will help, but how much? Are there certain manufactures that go good with our cars that I can look in to?

Thanks for the feedback and keep it coming! I will post some pics when I get it back from Infiniti. Should be sometime this coming week. Would be faster, but they're a lil behind sched.

I have another question for y'all. Everyone tells me the Athens Blue I have is a rare color. Are they blowing smoke up my *** or is this true? I love the color and haven't seen many with it, I usually see gray/silver.

well most would say search but basicly the spacer is the only thing NA that has beem proven to give you about 15hp threw out the powerband i belive and thats when you combine it with the MREV on a REV UP engine

Intake and exhuast are pretty much for sound/looks

I Found This:

http://motordyneengineering.com/G35.php

It looks like a pretty cheap upgrade, How much would it cost to get the Spacer and MREV installed? Or is it a DIY job?

DIY but only if you know something about what you are doing just remeber to keep track of all the bolts beacuse your craking the engine in.

And that is the best mod for preformance with out going FI

Umm, a lot of members will disagree with you. you definitely don't get 15 hp out of your car from that. But it is a good mod, I believe it is to make other mods such as exhaust and intake work slightly better.

Spacer is good, I've heard 4.083 gears are the best if you are keeping your car NA, you will lose some top speed, but it's retarded to go up to 155 anyway.

Athens blue looks amazing with all black rims. Black out the grill too if that's your style, it's a very cheap DIY. Athens Blue is an uncommon color, it is carribean blue that is rare. But def. 75% of the g's on here are silver/white/black.

I can't get a body kit or drop it. I'm in the military and one of the security measures on our base is these BIG speed bumps at the entrance. If I dropped it or put a body kit on it... it would bottom out.

Sucks, I Know!
