I currently drive 6MT coupe and I love it, but my GF always say Subaru STI has better performance and might beat my car for sure. She's gonna to order the STI and will race with my coupe. Anyone can give me any suggestions for how to shut her mouth???? HELP!!!! Also I plan to go get new M3 depends how much insurance rate I can get, does new M3 handle STI more easier??? If not, then I wont go for it anyway for spend double price for M power.

I agree...beware of the STI...amazingly fast...i know because i test drove one!

 

the STI will stomp you, and MOST other cars on the road (some costing 4-7 times the price too)

the awd will launch with great ease, and the monster turbo (mated to the bigbore boxer) will leave you pullin on it, im afraid... i had a deposit on a 2k4 (silver ) STI, but after it arrived, and i got a good test of the interior, i just couldnt overlook that much to get 4.6 sec 0-60 times.....

besides, a vortech G is alot more appealing, no??

tell her to wait for the STi WR-1, that'll keep u kool for a bit longer. if u wanna make sure u win, don't race her from a dead stop, she'll eat u alive. race her on the highway where u can take advantage of having a 6 cylinder and a low drag coefficient. i've raced an STi on the highway (highway i said, not stoplight) and they are nothing up top. from the factory they are 0-60 and 1/4 mi. monsters, not top speed demons. just make sure u race her bone stock, cos once she opens up her exhaust pieces, its a different story...

LMAO, My Girlfriend is determined to have a fster car than me as well. Luckily she doesn't have the means to do so but still I know what you mean.

As far as her having an STI. Look at it this way. When you need to get to the airport FAST you can take her car. However I highly doubt you woill be taking the STI for a night on the town when the classy G35 is sitting next to it. Just a thought.

 

I don't think M3 can handle STI in drag racing as well. Off the line STI should still able to beat the M3. (That is, if your gf knows how to drive manual good) And yes, race her on the highway. The best way to shut her mouth? I'd say get a Z06.
