MY G SAVED ME

I love my car even more. Got my A## out of an accident this morning on 95 in South Florida. Bumper to bumper, needless to say everybody slammed their brakes when a tractor lost a tire. I slammed and cutted to avoid the guy in front of me.

I missed the guy in front of me, and the guy behind me ended up hitting the guy I missed in front. Thank you G and BREMBOS. Would have been a G sandwich.

Any other close call ?.

Re: MY G SAVED ME

saves me everytime I have to pull out from a side street in chicago. I'm also no longer afraid to swerve quickly to avoid some nasty road kill.

Re: MY G SAVED ME

was driving in a parking lot when a guy didnt look and just pulled out... i swerved very quick and avoided him (my accord couldnt have handled like that!). my friend in the passenger seat was speechless for like 5 minutes, til he said "what the he!! just happened??" and the guy who pulled out just stood there and didnt know what to do! so i yelled at him and told him to learn how to drive... it was a close call and the G handled like a dream!
thanks G!

Re: MY G SAVED ME

The G saved you, but your manuver caused the guy to hit the person in front because he had no idea people were stopping because you shifted lanes and he was shocked to the outcome ahead of him.

Re: MY G SAVED ME

So much attention is paid to passive safety devices like Air bags, seat belts, crumple zones, etc. but no-one ever talks about the importance of active safety like handling, acceleration, powerful braking, etc. Both are very important. One helps you survive an accident, the other helps you avoid it altogether. I don't think one is more important than the other.

[Step up on soap box]

I'd vote for a law to change the requirements to get a drivers license to include courses that teach people how to control a car when the car is "out of control"; and courses that teach a person to have confidence their ability to manuever in difficult situations while remaining calm. I think a lot of accidents happen because a driver get's in a tight spot they've never experienced before and panics. Getting a drivers license in this country is way way way too easy in my opinion. There needs to be much more teaching both of the physics of driving and practical experience in a variety of situations.

Re: MY G SAVED ME

Thanks to everyone. Hope the same outcome for all of you if ever needed.

I'm sure it won't be the last time my G saves me. I felt bad for the guy who was behind me, but hey move it or lose it. His minivan just wasnt built to stop that fast and he was pretty close to me.

Re: MY G SAVED ME

I agree with AgisA - the minivan should not have been so close.
I'm glad you (and the G) are OK!!!

Re: MY G SAVED ME

Beavis,

I'm in South Florida - do the I95 deal everyday. Right now I'm leasing a 2002 Maxima - sweet engine, but handles like a boat. I can't wait until the lease is up early next year, going to get a 6MT.

Where did you get your G35?
