Need Help!!!

Hey guys,

For the past couple of weeks I have been hearing a weird noise when on the highway going like 70mph. It started to get louder and louder as time went on, sounded like a slapping noise. So I jacked up the car and saw the from black plastic cover which is right behind the front bumper and beneath the engine was dragging on the ground. Many of the screws that hold it up went right through the plastic cover and some screws were just plain missing. I had to zip-tie what I could to keep it up, but it is still dragging.

Seems like half the plastic cover flew off at some point too and it is cracked and breaking. I have to wait a week to take it in to the dealership. Can I just take this piece of crap cover off for the meantime or will it be dangerous to my undercarriage? I don't want any more problems then I already have. If anyone knows it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Take it off. Just be careful not to pull up to any curbs or parking blocks. gl

Just take it off until you get a new one. It's main function is to smooth out the airflow under the car which reduces drag and front lift so keep it under 140mph until you get a new one . It does protect the engine area from road debris too, but you will be OK as long as you do not run over anything bad. It also helps to prevent thermal shock should you speed through some serious standing water, but it is far fetched that you would have a problem even if you did. Most cars do not even have these covers.
