Cargo net - what is it for etc

So I just got my cargo net shipped from Japan through local Nissan dealership here, and I installed it to my best knowledge. It comes with 4 hooks that I can attach to 4 rings inside the truck. The net then forms a kind of U shape compartment to which I can put some light things into and it will prevent it from moving back and forth. Still, I though this net would kind of cover the whole trunk and hold things down to the trunk's floor.

Here is a picture of what it looks like installed, let me know if I did something bad, or if there is another kind of cargo net which covers a larger part of the trunk.

Click the picture for better resolution.

Thanks

Ben

Thats It! It doesn't look like there's much to it, but it works very well. I use that thing all the time. It looks like you put it in perfect, I'm not sure if there are other nets for the trunk.

You keep it in all the time? Will the rubber give up after a while if I keep it stretched like it is when installed?

I am carrying a football, some football gear all the time, as we play several times a week, so it'd be best to keep the net in 24/7.

For someone who doesnt have one yet, its cheap, and holds a few things just fine. If you have a bottle of water in the trunk, or a football like in my case, you can be sure it wont bounce around.

However, its not fit to keep lets say a bunch of books from sliding, etc.

This is the Nissan part number:

Cargo net: 999C1JPC00

Cheers

Ben

Mine came with one new Jan 06. Been in there 98% of time. It hasn't got stretched out yet. You installed correctly.

^^ +1

On since 3/06 and still works great. Hold all kinds of detailing products and is great for preventing round bottles from rolling around your trunk when driving.

The netting in our '98 QX4 has been there, and used, for 10 years. Still works fine with no stretching.

Hi All,

Thanks for all the answers, I am assured now that this net should be able to stay in the trunk for as long as I will have the car for.

It started to make sense to me as the days go by, you can still put in a mid size suitcase in front of the net so your cargo space is not that compromised, and yet maintain the keep your smaller moving items in the net for protection.

Cheers,

Ben
