Thumbs up key programing

Unfortunately, there is no other way that I'm aware of, many clients have asked and we've never found an outside source. Having said that, you're local dealer should charge you no more than $60 for the reprogramming, if we can do anything to help, plz call or e-mail, we have some pull in the dealer boards,ya know.

i googled it a while back when i needed my intelligent key reprogrammed and only found stuff for the standard remote and key. it took a while to track down the info, but i did find a forum that had the procedure to reprogram the standard alarm fob.

I have the same problem....I need a spare transponder key to be cut and programmed as my used 2004 g35 coupe only came with one key. I purchased a transponder key on ebay for $24 and just need to have it cut and programmed.
So I called the nearest Infiniti dealer, which is Gunn Infiniti in San Antonio, Texas. The service guy told me that if I already have the key and just need to have it programmed they will charge me $108!!!! If I buy the key from them the key alone will cost $130 plus the $108 to have it programmed. He said that once you program any new key, the original key itself also needs to be re-porgrammed. Also, the service guy said that only an Infiniti dealer can provide this service, so that no local locksmith could do the job.....how true is this?
Does anyone know of a cheaper way to have this done??? thanks
