I went to my local dealer in Kirkland, WA and the Salesman said that I had to wait for 6 months to get the car. Wow that is a long wait, I did not know the coupe was such a popular car. They did have tons of sedans on the lot, but only 1 coupe.

Is this normal?

 

It is in hot demand, especially the 6MT Coupe. However, the wait of 6 months is for THAT particular dealer. Shop around, and you'll find other higher volume dealers that have more of an allocation, and less of a wait. If you don't care what colors and options you want, you can find one right away in stock.

There's a lot of B.S. flying around some of the dealerships. They've got a hot selling car, and some of them are trying to take advantage of the customer. Always shop around and do your research.

6 months for an order. I've been tracking the Kirkland dealer pretty close, if you haven't already, check with Tony, the internet guy. He seems pretty legit. I heard a similar thing for orders but there are some coupes enroute that aren't spoken for. Saw them today. Seems they have about 60+ sedans. Unfortunately, the only other dealers nearby are Portland and Spokane. Portland is a better deal but offset with the distance. ...dean

THere's quite a bit of demand for 6MTs and on top of that Infiniti is artificially constricting production a bit to keep the car's desireable image. But all the same, 6 months is an awful long wait. I'd look into national dealers that may be able to ship to you. You might be able to work shipping into the deal.

 

Beaverton Infiniti told me the wait would be 6 to 9 months. I placed an order with Kirkland, with a delivery date in July if they get enough allocation for April. There is a dealership in Texas (Grubbs) and in Riverside, CA that seem to be much larger volume dealers and will ship the car to you.
