Yeah, I noticed a rattle in the right rear interior quarter panel as soon as I picked the car up. 7,000 miles later, its still there, despite a temporary fix by the dealer who did the parcel shelf TSB, but the rattle came back 500 miles later. [img]/w3timages/icons/mad.gif[/img] I was kind of discouraged to hear a rattle in a brand new car, but fortunately no other additional rattles have crept up, except for a creaking moonroof.

This is my first Japanese car, and I was expecting a tight rattle-free cabin, so kind of disappointed on that front (although I still love the car overall).

To answer your questions.... I'm positive the rattle is in the front passenger side dashboard....... its consistent whether I'm on the freeway or driving 10 mph.....Its right where the windshield and dash meet in the corner.....

I took it back the same day as the dealership was closing and a tech tried to fix it with some foam..... to no avail..... The tech said I'll probably notice some more rattles so he advised me to go ahead and take it for the weekend and document any other rattles I hear and then bring it in.... I didn't notice any other rattles, but I was kind of pissed and my radio was on the entire time I drove..... Oh, and the tint they did for me at the dealership bubbled up on the passenger window a little, so they have my G now and I'm stuck in a loaner....

but at least my dealership seems somewhat helpful... I've noticed alot of complaints on this board about dealerships... We'll see what happens...... ;-/

 

I've had this same rattle intermittently for the last couple of weeks. Then for the past week it became worse and more consistent. I took it to the Infiniti dealer and no luck. Determined to get the rattle out, I decided to take Saturday to get rid of the rattle.

The first rattle came from the cover under the glove compartment. I took the cover out, one rattle was gone. The next was the one coming from where the windshield meets the dashboard. I took off the front vent and after driving 30 miles, experimenting, and messing with the vent I finally got rid of it. So I'll try to attach some pictures that show what I did.

Here is the passenger side vent.

Here is the contraption that I made to get rid of the rattle.

Then pry off the vent, be careful not to rip off the light sensor.
Tuck it between the plastic and the front of the car as shown. Be careful not to drop it into the air conditioning vent or you'll never get it out. No more rattle, my car is much more enjoyable now and I can talk to my gf without that annoying rattle.
