Another VPP Question

Ok, Here's my situation. My wife works for a company that is on the VPP list. The problem is that she is leaving in August, and I really looking forward to getting a 2005 if there were going to be any HP changes. The dealers are telling me that she has to be employed at the time of car delivery, which sounds like it may be September/October. Since the VPP # is good for 90 days, does anyone think she could order a vpp# in July (which makes it good until October) and still get the 2005? Basically, do they actually check to see if you are working at the company after the car is delivered, or is the background check done when you order the number?

If there aren't any worthwhile changes for 2005, then I really don't care about the year of the car. I plan on keeping it for a while and I'm happy with the car as is right now.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Re: Another VPP Question

Here's what I know:

My wife works for a VPP eligible company too. I called Nissan and gave them her name, employer, and other info. Nissan gave the VPP number to me without ever talking to my wife.

At the dealer, I simply gave them the number when I made the deal. When we picked up the coupe, they told us to bring her pay stub. They never asked to see it.

I think it'd be worth a shot. It seems that once they've got a valid VPP number in their system, the deal is golden. As long as you're within that 90 day window, the deal should go through.

That said - I think it is HIGHLY UNLIKELY that any dealership will be honoring VPP pricing on the 2005 Coupes, especially if there are significant changes made to the new models.
