Windshield Wiper Problem
Hey,
So for a while my driver-side windshield wiper (which is a Bosch Micro Edge Excel wiper blade) has been chattering every time I use my wipers. The lower half of the blade hops up and down as it wipes to the left, rather than gliding smoothly the way it should. I thought it was due to a worn wiper blade, so I purchased a new pair of blades (ANCO HydroClear 24" driver/17" passenger).
So I installed the blades and used my windshield washers and the stupid driver-side wiper is still doing the same thing!! It's not as bad, but it's still so messed up! I tried all the different wiping speeds and it still does it! What exactly is the problem here??

There was a TSB issued for this a long time ago-- go tell your dealer that your right winshield wiper shudders and you'd like the TSB performed. They'll understand.

No, I just replaced the wiper blades. When I removed the wiper blade from the arm itself and made it wipe (while the arm was up in the air, of course) the motor was working fine. And this did not used to be a problem....oh sh*t now that I think of it, my driver-side wiper was also a noisy bastard sometimes...on random wipes, it would just chatter but I thought it was from worn blades...but then again, I've changed the blades like 4 times over the course of 8 or 10 months.
I gotta take the car in....damn, never thought there would be a problem with my windshield wipers, lol.

I thought I was the only one with this problem!!! Infiniti might tell you that the TSB thats out isnt for our cars. Its a TSB for sedans only!!! WTF???? I got so frustrated after taking it in 3 times for the same damn problem I just gave up. They kept claiming its "normal"!! $36k car with wipers that seem like theyre from a $300 car...."normal"??? sorry...had to vent!

Wow, that sucks man. I hope my dealership doesn't do that to me. Is it possible that we HAVE to use Infiniti wiper blades? Also, is it possible to fix this problem ourselves? I mean, it can't be THAT hard, can it??

if the blade chatters and skips on the glass it's probably because the glass is dirty and grabing the rubber. it may look clean but there could be microscopic particles causing this. try cleaning it with a solvent and then appling rainx or a wax on the glass that might help to smoothen it out.

Nope....thats not the prob...I tried doing both of those things....waxing made it even worse. MrElussive, try looking up the TSB...its for the sedan but might help you out when you go to your dealer. Mines replaced the blades once but didnt do the TSB. And now theyre saying its normal. I even asked if they can give me the parts so I can do it myself...they told me some bs...forget what he said exactly. But if im not mistaken, it was a washer or spacer that goes on before the wiper arm to bring the arm higher off the glass for proper alignment. I cant remember where I read that???
