ok ive owned a E46 m and a 330 thw workman ship on those cars are not like they used to be , and cost for repairing the parts are crazy, the smg pump alone ran $3,000. then again its a bmwit has class and the interior and paint have quality behind it. the g has alot of small rattles and the paint is absolute crap, also the car itself doesnt feel as good as my old 330 which is pretty close in camparison the is only better in every other way, and if you are knowledgable of car maintainace itwont cost you a dime exept for parts i owned my car for about 2 years i ran that thing hard, i did the brakes, and all the other usual maintainance stuff and i never said damn that costed me some money.

 

So you're telling me that the maintenance on the M3 is the same as for a G35... I'm in a similar situation.. Trying to decide on whether to get a 07 G35/ 07 STI/ 04 M3.. Think I may just wait for a used G37 and in a few years get the new m3.

Maintenance and parts will kill me.. I work part time and attend school full time...

 

im not gonna lie my parents pay for all my stuff, but i still do all the ordering of the parts and all so i know how much bmws cost to maintain, the only expensive parts are things that just break like a smg pump or something of that sort, its best to pay 3 grand extra and get the 3 year 60,000 mile warranty from a third party company. BMW no longer certifies their pre-owned M3s because of the amount of problems theyve been having.

^ no, noone said that. If you read the post it says you can't get anything higher than 91 at your corner gas station in CA. at least in socal, but i don't think norcal would be different.

 

I meant to say you only get up to 91 octane in cali.
Buts thats not true there are a few 76 and shell gas station where you could get 100 Octane in No - Cal.

i think you are missing the point. of course you can get higher than 91 octane at special locations. i'm not saying that it does not exist in cali. the point i'm making is it's not easy to purchase 91+ octane in cali i.e. at every gas station.

 

I guess your right there isnt one on every corner.
Buts its not hard to get you just have to know where to get it.
