Re: M3 BEATER

Please repost in decent english.

The m3's are monsters. Pure street machines. They will pull, and pull hard. Your best bet is to do a CAI, catback, plenum, ecu, grounding kit, and high flow cats, maybe then you will hang with them, but who knows. It is just like the RSX thread. The rsx is less powered, cheaper, and is still an awesome performer, but just not up to spec with the G. The m3 is the same, it is more expensive, more powerful, and will pull more than the g35. Beatable, but not likely. Good luck.

Re: M3 BEATER

Your most cost-effective route is a supercharger or NOS. If you wanna go all out, get a TT. But bolt-on "all engine" mods are a waste of money if your goal is to beat an M3 'cause you're not gonna get there.

Re: M3 BEATER

Forced induction is not considered a "basic bolt on" part... he was referring to Intake, Exhaust, header... it's like civics with the same parts thinking they are breaking 13's with those mods. they just don't do much. all-motor tuning needs a LOT of work, port/polish, pistons, rods, cams, camshafts, just to start.... and the results will rarely (if ever) match with the essential low cost to power ratio of Forced Induction.

that said, i prefer all-motor over forced induction, despite my owning an evo. it's just more honest imo.

what's the fastest all-motor Z or G i wonder?

Re: M3 BEATER

FI is honest. In my oppinion, its NOS that is "cheating", because you arent running it all the time, only in spurts. that said, NOS is a hell of a way to run really fast.

Re: M3 BEATER

I hate it when people call it "NOS." The correct term is Nitrous Oxide; "NOS" is just one of many brands of Nitrous Oxide kits... That aside, adding "real" forced induction isn't terribly cheap, but will give you M3-eating power and you will still have several thousands left over compared to what you would have spent just to buy an M3.

Re: M3 BEATER

I understand what he means by going NA only. It's something about the M3's 3.2L I6 cranking out 333bhp. o.O

It's like more honest efficiency than a turbo. Not that I disapprove of F/I .. I would gladly have a Supra TT.

Re: M3 BEATER

Yeah...install the CAI, plenum, and all the other stuff. Although m3's Hp is 333hp, they have almost the same torque as we are

"port/polish, pistons, rods, cams, camshafts, just to start"

I can't wait until I can replace my cams and camshafts!!

Re: M3 BEATER

I say if you can get a good deal on the engine port and polish go for it plus upgrading the ecu and intake. Or if its cheaper or gives more power the VQ stroker kit.
