New Mods review: Rogue Shift/exedyclutch/stillenflywheel/testpipes

2005 g35 coupe 6mt.

OK..lets see..

1.)Rogue Shifter. Shifter when from smooth operation to tough shifting requiring for force...which is common. the noise is unreal, the thing vibrates/rattles, makes a Terminator soundling noise when you shift and feels very clunky. But no the less shifts are shorter and very solid.

2.) test Pipes w/o resonators. not loud at all...exactly what i wanted. Just a BIT louder than OEM. and it isnt as raspy as everyone said. Although i have learned a few things..buy them with resonators, buy the ones with mounting brackets so you can mount back up your support otherwise it will sit in your garage, and buy from a known company...these ebay 50 dollar pipes fit up great, but leaks like crazy at the flanges....FYI, OEM bolts wont fit.

3.) EXEDY CLUTCH package. 172 off ebay...feels great, broke in quickly and grips just like OEM..

4.) Stillen 14lb Flywheel with replaceable insert. Well its much lighter...and i think i understand the chatter everyone talks about. you know that sound your car makes if you are too low in speed and too high of gear and the cars about to die cuz the tranny is pushing the motor....well its like that...but its anytime you are barely lacking in MPH...but it just trains you to stay in lower gears. i can hear it on downshifts too.. its not too bad...makes the car sound like its a beater though...kinda takes away from the luxary feel.

I couldnt really notice the HP FEEL gain the guys at STillen said i would get...they said 25HP FEEL from the flywheel spooling faster...

flywheels are proven to negligible hp gain.... but your engine will rev faster in neutral

Stillen HP gains are notoriously overestimated. Flywheel doesn't give you more hp, it is just supposed to reduce some of the drivetrain loss.

My experience with the Rogue STS is opposite of yours. It reduced the amount of vibration a tad, and made the shifts slightly less notchy than stock.

What other mods do you have? The test pipes are good for top end, but your low end and mid (daily driving range) will suffer from a lack of back pressure. If you're tuned, you'll notice it much less.
