i had a 99 maxima that i always beat on and don't really beat on my g because im not at 5000 yet (trying to play it safe because its a new car and i care about it more) i think 5000 miles is a good number to start going at it. i do hit the red line every once in a while but was wondering how the rest of you drive? Beat or Baby?

(Although i'm not sure if i beat on it like a Hillbilly beats on his wife, that was the title of the post before a moderator changed it...i coulda sworn i saw it...

No way. I guess it all has to do with being in your forties. I drive my G like I drive my motorhome. Don't get me wrong, I do kick her up every now and then, and do some "blow-bys" but overall, my G is just a mild cruiser. [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

Pretty much baby the thing. I've hit 6k rpm once (Austin traffic- zoom-or-die) but that's it.
Damn- I guess the saying about slowing down when you get older applies to how you drive a car as well.
Ok.. now that I'm depressed....

Nice thing about getting old- my Insurance Premiums are less than yours!

 

My brakes and tires take most of the beating, the handling impresses me a lot more than the speed.... my poor tires....

I also race sailboats and there's an old saying that sailing is hours of boredom punctuated by moments of stark terror. That might loosely describe my driving style. Sedate and responsible 98% of the time, punctuated by wanton, lusty trips to the acceleration/handling edge when it can be safely done. The redline is my friend...
