Smile Should I get this car?

Hello,

I'm a new member in this great forum. I've been looking around and seeing people complaining about having problems with their car right after buying it, so that made me more carefull in deciding which car to get.

I found this car at a dealer:

2005 fully loaded 6MT g35 coupe with Navigation package
Milage: 70,000 miles
price: $17,000
In excellent condition (as described by the dealer)

does it sound like a good deal?

I get to bring in a mechanic to check the car before buying it. Also the car has a clean CARFAX report.

What do you guys think? everything looks perfect with this car except for the high milage. Is there an average age for these g's mileage-wise?

any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

i dont know if that is a good deal or not, but i just bought a used 04 g35 myself and one of the conditions that i NEEDED was some sort of warranty with the vehicle, and so i was able to get a 3 year/84000 mile warranty on my new (used) car.

All i have to say is, don't trust carfax. I have a lot of friends that have gotten into crazy accidents, and the reports don't show on carfax since they got it fixed at a bodyshop and didnt go thru insurance..And the price is too high for that mileage

I'll try to get it with a lower price, But my question is that is this car worth buying or not?

I mean, do these g's usually have probelms when they get to such a high milage?

Not really. But parts will wear out as they will in any car, and if you don't get a part replaced at the right time, you could damage your engine. That's typically why people don't buy high mileage cars. There are some G's on here with 150k and up but not many yet.

All G's I found within this price range have 50K miles and up and this is the best deal I could find ..

So you guys are saying that I'll definitly be having problems with this car no matter what ? even if the mechanic says that everything is OK with it and it's covered under warranty ?

Thats not a bad price at all. Every G35 around me goes for $20k with like 50k miles. Thats how much I paid for my 04 last year. I'd say 20k miles more would equal about $3000 less.

I guess it depends where you live.

Have you ever had any problems due to the high milage with your G since you bought it?

I just recently bought an 04 G35 6mt coupe with nav.
the owner offered 17,500 for it but he had PIAA Super ROZA rims on them and that was w/o the rims...and so i wanted the rims and got it for 19...
IMO that deal they're giving you is vary vary fare.

i would go for it
