Re: fiberglass experiences? anyone?
You have to consider that when you buy a replica kit the main thing is you get what you pay for..
When you buy an original its guranteed to fit but with replicas it depends on the manufacturer...
all replicas are made from the original or a copy of original kit so the fitment may vary...
One tip i can give you is if you buy a replica buy it from a brand name kit company..someone that you can return the part if its broken or fits poorly..
..THE MORE YOU SPEND ON THE KIT IN THE FIRST PLACE IS WHERE YOU REALLY SAVE THE MONEY...
for example you might spend 2gs on a kit and think its alot but it should fit right away and your done...
but with a cheap kit for like 500 ( there are exceptions)
you will spend another 1500 more or less, at a body shop for labor when they have to modify and fit it correctly.. some times it could be redrilling a whole and sometimes they might need to add some fiberglass because the kit wasnt sturdy enough (this happened to my friends legend, the bumper was paper thin and cracked in a week)..or the body lines had too much gap...
sorry for the long post..

Re: fiberglass experiences? anyone?
i agree with 350gtboi on everything except 1500 in body shop fees. although replica body kits unally need extensive work to be fitted, 1500 is out of hand. if a body shop is charging 1500 to do work to a bumper or kit, most likely they are telling you that they dont know how to preform the work so they are going to quote a riduculous ammount.that or they are just trying to rip you off. a professional body shop with the necessary experience with fiberglass aerodynamics can make a custom body kit for about 1000. basically making a kit for a car which the bumpers were not intended for. so to refit a kit. should be more like 100-600.
