what size tires should i slap on my OEM 17" six spokes (the ugliest infiniti wheels ever)? i was thinking 225/50/17 dunlop WS3D's all around. i have a 6MT with the OEM 19's. would this throw off my speedometer?

also, how do i tell if my 17's are really OEM? i ask because i bought them without center caps..the guy said it was OEM..

yeah 225 front 235 rear is the reccomended size for 17's winter. i think dunlop M3 i a great choice thats what i have for this winter, although it is my first in the coupe. and no it will not throw off your speedo

Priceless wasn't the word I was thinking.

because they come with different size in the back than the front straight from the factory, so you want to use the factory specs, for optimised control and handling.

The first winter I had my G (up in Saskatchewan where we get 10 - 20 feet of snow per year) I ran Blizzaks on 17 inch Speedy rims. Never got stuck, occassionally had to plow through a couple feet of snow, but on dry pavement they were soft, my vdc was always kicking in and it felt like I was rollingon marshmallows.

fwd to last year - I found a set of little used 18 inch oem wheels with brand new Dunlop M3s on them on ebay for.......$900. Not to brag (well yeah I am) but I got extremely lucky. And the tires perform great...never get stuck in snow...ever....and they are almost as god on dry than my 19 inch potenzas. And the infiniti 18 oem rims are the best looking oem you can find ftmfw.

Bottom line - the coupe does well in winter - on ANY winter tire - but I would recommend spending an extra couple hundred bucks and get a PERFORMANCE winter tire like the Dunlop M3 or Michelin Alpine.

I have also had the Dunlop WinterSport M3's and they are great tires. But as people have said above you will still need to be careful, these tires will make the car driveable, but not turn it into a snowmobile. There are many different sizes you can get but what I always do is look at the tire specs at tirerack.com and compare the overall diameter to my stock tires. As long as you stick close to that then you should not have any problems with the VDC.
