Re: rx-8 forum
Of course they are going yo be biased. But everytime I tell people that I was considering an RX8 or a Z they tell me that I made the right decision in the G. The RX8 is much more common than the G in my area. I rarely see a G35 C. Still maybee 3 each week.

Re: rx-8 forum
i have to say that mazda forum really sucks!!!! it appears you say anything to not support the rx-8 and you're threatened to be banned. like the comment on the coupe "having 280 horses vs 199 horses....mmmmmm". the poster was threatened to be banned for that statement. is that crazy or what?!?!?!
of course everyone has their own opinions about cars and it's all matter of taste. furthermore, i'm not down with ripping on other ppl's cars just because it's another make. but to compare the rx-8 to the coupe is plain stupid. why do ppl always have to get into topics like these. it's like us comparing the g to the m3. different class altogether so why even compare.
ppl have to realize that every car is nice in it's own way. some nicer than others. but i'm definitely not going to rip on let's say a 330ci because i have a g coupe. i'm sure most ppl who would consider the rx-8 probably took a look at the c35 and 330ci. why is it then that once you decide, then you have to bash the others. the same thing goes with the thinking that "oh, my car goes faster than your's so my car is better!!" ppl need to get lives man.

Re: rx-8 forum
LOL ... this is TOO funny. A regular poster on RX-8 forum and I always have interesting talks on the bias's of each forum and how everyone has their slanted opinion. We often get quite the chuckle on the seriousness of the posters.
Bottom line: lighten up people and let the people enjoy and choose there ride of choice. No choice is wrong or right just a matter of personal taste.
We often compare the differences of the two vehicles and have on occasion swapped cars for a bit of good fun.
IF I had a choice to do it all over again ..... I would still buy the G and my friend would still buy his RX-8.

The RX-8 is an excellent car, but not excellent enough. =)

Re: rx-8 forum
You are kidding about that interior comment, right? The interior of the RX-8 only looks neat on paper, it's full of hollow plastic that bends and flex when you poke at them. I don't get why some people think the RX-8 has a good interior... feels crappy to me, certainly worse than the built quality of the Millenia, which was a POS in its own rights.

I don't understand why people say the G35 has a crappy interior, I think the aluminum trim looks great. It's classy/luxrious with a modern influence, which is exactly what Infiniti's whole image is based on, from what I understand.

Re: rx-8 forum
Damn, stop bring flame wars between forums. Base on a quick glance the RX8 drivers are only stating their personal preference.

From how I understand it, its not the design/appearance of the interior that people talks about. Its merely the type of plastic and fit and finish on the interior. For some model of G35c the coin tray in the middle (near the E brake) are lose so when you flap it open and close the tray shakes. Things like that and the lower grade material Infiniti uses. (ie. Cheaper plastic, fake wood or Al trim.. )
When you open and close the M3 door it feels heavy and solid. The G35c door closes more smoothy than the m3 but it doesn't have the same heavy/solid feel. The new TL and Lexus Ls430's door are even smootherthan G35s but they aren't as solid as european. (Getting there tho.)
But it really depends on the person. I am the type who sits in the car look over everything with a fine comb. I feel the trim, push it a little to see if its solid. Mess around with air vent to see if their gears and contact points are smooth so they turn smoothly. Check out edges to see if the spacing are equal.

Re: rx-8 forum
I had an MX6 before my G, and the G has a more quality feel thatn my MX6 did when it was brand new. At the time that I bought it it was a $25K car in 1993. Back then that would get you a high quality car. I think that the G although not a trend setter in this regard it stil holds it's own for the price. Furthermore since the G is still trying to keep in it's ability to compete also in the sports car market, materials will be lighter. The bottom line however is that is this car had the quality build of say an M3 is would likely be 50 grand fully loaded. Never-the-less, I get people all the time saying: That must be a 45- $50,00 car.. at such comments I just chuckle.

Re: rx-8 forum
I liked how that one post listed some cars as "boy racer" cars with the sales numbers... who lists a bmw 330 as a boy racer car? that's fun-NAY!
i personally really like the rx8. (i'm not a g-owner) i was whittling down my decisions on cars and it came down to the rx8 (lightweight, rear wheel drive, great looks, ROTARY!) and evo.. i chose the evo; the rx8 just isn't worth the money in my opinion. but if it were say 28k out the door? that's a maybe.

Re: rx-8 forum
15mpg on the highway is great for the 8. Autoweek is only getting 13. If you start your car to wash it outside, you better not turn it off while you wash it or else you will have to get the car towed or pull the fuel pump fuse and start cranking for a half hour.
I still own my RX8...for now. One more flood and the POS is a lemon and it can go back to the nuked Hiroshima once and for all. I liked that the GPS would fold automatically into the dash when the car is turned off, and the red leather.
Ive put 7000 miles on my G and I got it in Feb. People who own a 8 and still like it are either delusional and/or insane.
