so hard to get a good price still

so hard to get a good price still
i'm from the bay area and it's so hard to work with the dealerships. They all barely have any coupes on the lot and if they do they're all autos with a few manuals.
I tried negotiating $700 off msrp on a twilight blue coupe with
navi no aero but could only budge with $500.
then i tried another dealership that has all the options above along with the aero for $1000 off mspr. 500 bucks for mudflaps and a spoiler isn't worth it to me. plus it's been sitting on the lot for a very long time.
is it really this hard still to get a good price on a 04??

Re: so hard to get a good price still
I just closed the deal on a DG/G G35C 6MT w/ NAV, full aero package, and premium package -- configured exactly as I wanted -- for about $1100 off MSRP from Infiniti of Pleasanton. I will be taking delivery of it this week. From what I understand, a G35C with 6MT and NAV are very hard to come by in the Bay Area.
accordfreak, I have a feeling that the fully-loaded one you mentioned that has been sitting on the lot for a long time is the one I picked up. Is the one you are referring to at Infiniti of Pleasanton? If so, do you mind me aksing how you know this was sitting on the lot for a while?
When I went in to look at this vehicle, there was a guy wanting to buy it, but he was just standing beside the car waiting for a salesperson to help him out. I briefly spoke to him and he wanted it pretty bad. I wanted the same car but I took the initiative and ran inside to get help first, so I test drove it and decided to negotiate right away -- he didn't even get to sit in it. From what I have read on various forums and from various salespeople, a G35C with 6MT and NAV are very hard to come by and people are lining up for them, as was in my case.

Re: so hard to get a good price still
hmm i guess about 1000 with aero and 500 w/o aero is reasonable. the one i tried negotiating with the aero was the twilight blue.. it was the dealership in san jose. how is pleasanton's inventory? was it pretty difficult negotiating with them? thanks for your help.
i'll check out frontier infiniti as well

Re: so hard to get a good price still
Id consider buying from a dealership on the East coast and having the car shipped...I'm not sure what the shipping charges would be but, I know that were getting around $2,500 off now on coupes, and some dealerships have been known to go to 3k off...Just a thought

Re: so hard to get a good price still
From what Infiniti of Pleasanton told me, they had 2 identical DG/G 6MTs (but no NAV) in stock. They also told me that they would be willing to offer bigger discounts on those vehicles.
I guess you were at Frontier Infiniti on Stevens Creek Boulevard. It looks like they still have the largest inventory of 6MTs in the Bay Area.
Infiniti of Pleasanton was great to deal with during the whole process.
