Small things to look for in a G35
Small things to look for in a G35
Hey guys,
I'm planning to get a 2006 G35 (automatic) and I'm obviously going to take it to a mechanic before I pull the trigger (its a private sale), but what small things should I look for when I go check out the car tomorrow? I'm planning to take it for a quick test drive as well but are there any common problems that I should look for?
Thanks

look at how much oil u have in teh G !!11!!1 , ive heard the newer 06s have a problem of consuming oil, unlike us First Gens
If there's nothing specific with an '06, what about general G35 problems. For instance, i heard that some G's have some rattling issues (is this just an issue with older G's?)

Rattles, radio failure and the like are just things that can happen to anyone, and you can't really avoid.
By buying an '06 you're guaranteeing (if you're under 60K miles) that at least they're under warranty.

I just bought my '05 G35 6MT, and one of the things I've noticed is that the button on my passenger side seatback that's supposed to automatically move the seat forward allowing rear access is dead. Driver's side works fine. Best thing you can do, ask where the previous owner serviced the vehicle, and ask for records if you can. Unfortunately for me, I didn't take the car to a mechanic before I purchased it, and now I've dumped over $1100 into repiars already, and I've not even had the car for a week. I'm sure that I'm going to be spending even more in the coming months.
