Anyone figure out if there is a way to open the trunk if the battery has died? The dealership came up with blank stares.

I figure say I'm in an accident, or for some reason I need a tow and the battery is dead, and I keep my briefcase in the trunk on the ride home from work. If I need access to that briefcase I'm pretty much screwed as far as I see it.

Makes me wonder if the trunk is the best place to store important things.

Go through the back seat?

 

It took me a week to finally read the manual and figure out how to lower the rear seat from inside. The red pull tab gets buried and you have to fish for it between the rear seats and the rear backrest. It's in the middle at the bottom.

ive had the problem where the trunk would not open even by hitting the button on the dash. I had to start the car, turn it off and then it would open.

 

It's sorta buried in the manual, but as Catatafish said there is info in there on finding the red cloth strap between the vetical and horizontal cushions of the back seat. Pull on the strap, trunk opens. Worked for me.

 

and the dealership didn't know that?........hmmmmmm
