Its been a couple of months since I bought my G at a Carmax. They only gave me 2 sets of keys (the main set and the spare) and no valet key. Im kinda paranoid that the valet key is still somewhere out there and if someone has it could potentially drive off with my car. I have been thinking about taking my car in to get the keys reprogrammed. Should I really be worried?

 

run a carfax to see where it the last owner lived...if its near by i would worry a bit. i bought my car from carmax with two main sets, ran a car fax to see that the original owner was 4 hours away...im not to worried but would like a set just in case i do valet

 

Getting keys made is getting cheaper. Buy the keys from Dealer or Ebay and have locksmith do it. I only got charged $50 including home visit charge. I got 2 keys from the dealer.

 

if that worried, just get keys reprogrammed at the dealer.

 

the original owner is like 1.5 hours away

 

got mine from carmax as well. not something i would even worry about personally. IF it did get stolen - at least you've have a pretty good idea who might of done it!
